Episode 38: The ONE Thing Holding You Back From Making More Money

This Is What Is Most Important!
So when you ask people what the most important thing is when it comes to money-making, they’ll tell you a whole bunch of stuff.
Most people will tell you that it’s about the technical skills that you have, or maybe how well you can solve problems…
But the truth is… It all boils down to one thing…
And it ain’t either of those.
It’s all about your…
Yup, that’s right… it’s always about your communication.
It’s our communication that caps us all.
For example, I knew a guy who was in a wheelchair… and he ran the thing with his mouth. And he ran a $20 million company that HE built.
And it was because he was, hands down… one of the BEST communicators I’ve ever seen in my life…
I’m tellin’ ya.
I’ve never seen anything like it before.
Here’s The Other Side Of The Coin…
But hey… listen to this.
This is how it works:
I communicate with people in the way that I like to be communicated to.
That makes sense, right?
And Wes likes to communicate with people in the way he likes to be communicated to.
And the thing is that you have to get this stuff IN LINE with each other. For example, that means that you have to know when to talk and when to keep quiet.
As my dad never let me forget… God gave us two ears and a mouth for a reason… to listen twice as much as we talk.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about what we’ve said… it’s not about how we said it… it’s about how it gets heard by the other person.
(Man, speaking of all this, I wish my teachers were better communicators ‘cos they were TERRIBLE.)
Communication is everything… Except This.
In the episode, Wes tells a great story about a guy he knew in cyber security insurance.
The guy has been involved in the biz for a few years now. But he basically gets paid to sell the insurance policies - he’s the biz owner, but he’s basically a salesman.
So although he may get paid to communicate - it’s only because he’s ‘been in the trenches for years now.
Without getting that initial expertise… he wouldn’t be able to create the same value from his ability to communicate.
Does that make sense?
But the bottom line is… that if you learn how to improve your communication skills… I can GUARANTEE you… that you will make more money… because it’s a two-way street. Not just a one-way road.
