Episode 56: New Year’s Special: How to Get What You Want Out of 2023

Episode 56: New Year’s Special: How to Get What You Want Out of 2023

Hello everyone and welcome, welcome, welcome to yet another episode of Kosmo Unfiltered.

And as you guys know, it’s now that time of the year again…

That time of the year when everybody writes out all the things they gotta do to make next year their best year yet.

And that’s what I’m gonna help you with today.

In today’s episode, Wes and I are gonna walk you through everything that you gotta do to be able to make the best new year's resolutions, AND learn how to stick to them.

So without further ado, let’s get right into it.

But before we do, please make sure to leave us a like, drop a comment and subscribe on whatever platform you’re watching on.

And if you really like what we’re doing, why not share it with a friend? After all, we don’t run ads or promotions or any of that garbage.

So let’s get into it!

What’s Your Why?

I mean every year people always talk about the THINGS that they wanna do.

But they never fail to consider WHY they want to do them, you see the difference?

I mean Wes has a great example. He likes to run all the time, but when you ask him why he wants to do it, he’ll tell you that it’s because he has another baby on the way.

That’s his WHY.

It becomes a lot easier to get hard things done when you know the exact reason why you’re doing it.

So let’s say that you wanna lose weight.

I mean everyone knows the things you have to DO… But not as many people have a reason WHY they wanna do it.

Which is actually just as important.

But let’s say you have a wedding coming up next June, and you wanna look your best for it… then that’s your why.

So the first step of making New Year's Resolutions is because you have to know what your why is.

But apart from that…

The only time you’ll change is…

This is the Only Time You’ll Make a Change

From my own experience, the only time I’ve ever made a change in my life is when I got sick and tired… of being sick and tired.

That’s when it all changed.

I mean every single January I used to tell myself that I wanted to work out more.

And you know when I started doing it?...

... Like October or November, man.

And I just came to realize like we just aren’t meant to live like this.

Same thing happened to my wife and I with money. Eventually we just got sick and tired, so we cut up our credit cards.

Yup, cut them up with scissors and that was the end of it.

We stopped eating out and going out for drinks, that was when we decided to change.

And since then, we’ve been all the better for it.

Where Most People Go Wrong

Now some people can get their New Year's Resolutions going well.

And then sometime around March or April, they fall back into their old habits.

And there’s always a small patter that I see with this.

Here’s where it  goes wrong:

You have to identify the people who will support you, and the people who will hold you back.

Because this is SO important.

And sometimes, this can get pretty tough.

It’s hard for people to realize that some of their friends are simply holding them back.

And so if you find yourself in this situation, you have a choice to make.

Do you want change, or do you want comfort?

It’s as simple as that.

The Last Thing You Gotta Do

Again, another step that is often overlooked but still very, very important, is that you simply gotta own that s***.

Quit Making Excuses.

Hold yourself accountable.

And take extreme ownership for what happens.

Because that’s always gonna be the difference between winners and losers.

As the old saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
